The field of bioinformatics is based on studying of interaction between computer science and biology. Biology in the 21st century is being transformed from a purely laboratory based science to an information science as well. The information includes comprehensive global views of DNA sequence, RNA expression, protein interactions or molecular conformation. The goal of bioinformatics in computer aided molecular design, modeling of the biological activities and properties of chemicals and computer analysis of gene and proteins, has attracted the researchers from many fields including computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, neuroscience and cognitive science.

The main research interest topics are:

1. PREDICTIVE METHODS USING DNA SEQUENCING
2. PREDICTIVE METHODS USING PROTEIN SEQUENCING
3. GENE PREDICTION
4. GENOME ANALYSIS
5. VISUALISING PROTEIN STRUCTURES AND STRUCTURAL PROPERTIES
6. PROBABILISTIC GRAPHICAL MODELS IN BIOINFORMATICS
7. PROBABILISTIC MODELS OF EVOLUTION
